MADE TO MEASURE CURTAINS:
Why choose our made-to-measure Curtaining:
Curtain Styles
Curtains look great in mostly all kinds of interiors. Curtains go well in chic or contemporary interiors in both casual and formal environments, and they are also unfussy and so suit most very relaxed settings too. Consider using curtains for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms for a homely soft feel and to enrich your décor with a modern or classic style. We offer a range of self-lined curtain fabrics and offer an extensive range of linings for any type look or practical need.
Wave Curtains:
A very popular choice and very on trend, this style allows curtains to drape in soft neat even folds, and is suitable for most areas but very well in particular to very large window spaces running from ceiling to floor.
Wave curtains are fitted to a specially designed, discreet wave track system in standard white or coated in a colour of your choice. A versatile, stylish solution to suit all budgets and presently very trendy for most modern living spaces and bedroom areas. This style is another cool, contemporary option, perfect to create a simple, modern, and otherwise elegant look. Wave curtains have no gathering across the top, just a continuous, sinuous curve from top to toe. The curtains stack back neatly and this style suits fabrics that drape well such as sheers, cottons, and silks. Wave curtains and Eyelet are a great way of maximising natural light in a space.
Inverted Pleat Curtains:
Soft inverted pleats are stylishly classic, and they’ve made a comeback in many a modern home. Inverted pleats tend to look great on wooden curtain rods, and they allow the fabric to fall in a very loose, relaxed, and translucent style, perfect for living rooms and bedrooms.
Pinch Pleat curtains:
Pinch pleat is a decorative heading for curtains, suitable for all fabrics and quite versatile. Pinch pleats use more fabric and are fuller than pencil pleats. The pleats are hand-sewn in and permanently fixed for a more luxurious, tailored look. Pinch Pleat headed curtains are a highly decorative style, drawing together lots of fabric into a tightly gathered and stitched bunch at the top. The permanently sewn-in pleats make for a smart and neat finish, with elegant folds flowing from top to bottom. You can use pinch pleat curtains with either a pole or a track. Choose either a double or triple pinch pleat, depending on your style example, a triple pinch pleat header offers a more sophisticated, tailored appearance.
Double and triple pleat
This is where the fabric is gathered into sets of two or three pleats and curtains with these headings look classic and tailored. The amount of fabric required to create the pleats means that the curtains are full when drawn but the pleating means they bunch up well when opened, taking up less space than you might imagine. A double or triple (also known as ‘French’) pleat will suit practically every fabric with heavier weights or interlined curtains providing an especially sumptuous look.
Pencil Pleat curtains:
Pencil pleat is a very traditional standard heading for curtains. The Pencil Pleat curtain style curtain is very compact with narrow pleats (basically the width of pencils, hence the name). This is very much a traditional look with a couple of beneficial advantages. Firstly, it doesn’t take up too much space, making it great for smaller widths but longer lengths. Second, it stacks quite tightly allowing for maximum window space without losing to much overlapped wall space but can be easily adjust the folds. Thirdly, this style makes use of less fabric than any other curtain style, so it’s very cost-effective by comparison to other curtain styles. Suitable for mostly any type of track or pole.
Tab Top Curtains:
Simple, airy, and relaxed. Too much fullness causes bunching and detracts from the curtains’ simplicity. Tab size should be scaled to match the diameter of the intended pole. Only suitable for poles.
Note that curtains made from this style are not as easy as other heading styles to open and close because of the space occupied by the tab and the friction of the fabric on the pole (especially on wooden poles). Tabs can be made in contrasting fabric if desired.
Eyelet Curtains:
A modern curtain style with neat and clean lines. With even pleats, this style requires the least amount of space either side of the window to stack back as stacking is generally very tight and neat. The standard eyelet size is 40mm and as Eyelet curtains can only be fitted to curtain poles, they suitably fit a 25mm aluminium or stainless steel rod.
We offer a variety of eyelet ring inserts to compliment the pole of your choice and your overall décor.
Metal eyelets are better than plastic and we advise using metal poles. Curtains cannot overlap in the middle so a centre pole support should be avoided if possible.
Where space either side of a window is very limited an eyelet or wave heading is the best option. An eyelet heading creates a very contemporary look where the curtain pole is threaded through metal eyelets in the top of the curtains.
You can choose a chrome, gunmetal or bronze finish for the eyelets which is a great way of visually linking your curtains not only to the curtain pole but to other metal finishes in the room. Curtains with eyelet headings are very easy to operate so a particularly good choice for children’s bedrooms as well as elsewhere.
Voile curtaining:
Provide daytime privacy while allowing diffused light to pass through creating a soft, light, and cosy ambiance to any living space or bedroom area. Generally well priced as most voiles are available in double width rolls. Layers well with other curtains and blinds to create a flexible environment for light control. Add a block-out curtain layer on a separate for a dual-purpose result for maximum light and privacy control.
Different header styles and rods and rails can be used to provide a perfect finish to your home.
